Evaluación de la disfagia y sus asociaciones en pacientes con esclerosis múltiple secundaria progresiva

En este estudio transversal en pacientes con esclerosis múltiple secundaria progresiva que recibían anticuerpos monoclonales anti-CD20, evaluamos la presencia de disfagia y analizamos su asociación con el sexo, la edad, la duración de la enfermedad, la gravedad de la discapacidad y las terapias modificadoras de la enfermedad (TME). Se utilizó la versión validada en persa del cuestionario Dysphagia in Multiple Sclerosis (DYMUS). Se incluyó un total de 66 pacientes. La mediana de la puntuación DYMUS fue de 1,0 [rango intercuartílico: 0,0-2,3] y 40 (60,6 %) presentaron un DYMUS positivo. Solo las TME mostraron una asociación significativa con la puntuación DYMUS; los pacientes que recibieron rituximab presentaron puntuaciones más altas (diferencia media estimada: 0,96 (±0,39), p = 0,014). Al agrupar a los pacientes según puntuaciones DYMUS positivas y negativas, no se observaron asociaciones significativas (p > 0,05).
