Sus antecedentes:

  • Los hombres que tienen relaciones sexuales con hombres (HSH) son una población clave para la investigación de salud pública.
  • Comprender los desafíos de la salud mental como la ansiedad y el apoyo social es crucial para este grupo demográfico.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Examinar los síntomas de ansiedad y los niveles de apoyo social percibidos en la población HSH.
  • Identificar los factores asociados con la ansiedad y el bajo apoyo social entre los HSH.

Principales métodos:

  • Se realizó una encuesta en línea con 1070 participantes de MSM entre marzo y junio de 2024.
  • Los datos incluían datos sociodemográficos, resultados de laboratorio, escala de trastorno de ansiedad generalizada (GAD-7) y puntuaciones de la Escala de apoyo social percibido (PSSS).
  • Para el análisis se utilizaron árboles de decisión y modelos de regresión logística binaria.

Principales resultados:

  • La prevalencia de síntomas de ansiedad fue del 19,6% y el bajo apoyo social fue del 12,90%.
  • La ansiedad fue significativamente mayor en individuos con bajo apoyo social (38,41%) en comparación con otros (16,95%).
  • El estado de empleo, la autoestima y la resiliencia psicológica fueron factores significativos asociados tanto con la ansiedad como con el bajo apoyo social.

Conclusiones:

  • El estudio encontró una prevalencia relativamente baja de ansiedad y bajo apoyo social en la población HSH en la región oriental de China.
  • El estado de empleo, la autoestima y la resiliencia psicológica son factores clave que influyen en el bienestar mental de este grupo.
  • Las intervenciones deben centrarse en mejorar la autoestima y la resiliencia psicológica para reducir la ansiedad entre los HSH.
