Sus antecedentes:

  • La miastenia gravis (MG) es un trastorno autoinmune de las uniones neuromusculares que causa fatiga y debilidad muscular.
  • Estos síntomas afectan significativamente la calidad de vida de los pacientes.
  • La comprensión de los factores que afectan la calidad de vida es crucial para el manejo del paciente.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Investigar los factores que influyen en la calidad de vida en pacientes con miastenia gravis.
  • Identificar los desafíos específicos que afectan la vida cotidiana y el bienestar.

Principales métodos:

  • Estudio transversal de 52 pacientes con MG.
  • Se ha evaluado la gravedad de la enfermedad utilizando la clasificación MGFA y la escala MG compuesta (MGC).
  • Se utilizaron cuestionarios validados: FSS, BDI, MG-ADL, MG-QOL y estrés familiar autoinformado.

Principales resultados:

  • La QOL no se vio afectada significativamente por el sexo, el tipo de enfermedad, los síntomas, latimectomía o el IMC.
  • Los pacientes empleados/independientes reportaron una menor calidad de vida y una mayor fatiga que los grupos de jubilados/ama de casa.
  • El aumento del estrés familiar se correlacionó con una mayor fatiga, peores puntuaciones de MGC y una peor calidad de vida.
  • Las puntuaciones de MG-ADL y FSS fueron los predictores más fuertes de QOL.

Conclusiones:

  • La calidad de vida en MG es multifactorial, influenciada por elementos funcionales, sociales y ocupacionales.
  • Se necesitan intervenciones adaptadas para abordar la fatiga y apoyar el bienestar laboral/familiar.
  • Se recomienda una mayor investigación con cohortes más grandes para refinar las estrategias clínicas.
