Objetivo del estudio:

  • Para evaluar los resultados de diez años en pacientes con traumas graves.
  • Identificar los factores que influyen en el retorno al trabajo y la participación social.
  • Informar las estrategias de rehabilitación a largo plazo.

Principales métodos:

  • Estudio de cohorte retrospectivo de pacientes adultos con trauma (puntuación de gravedad de la lesión ≥ 9).
  • Encuesta administrada al menos 10 años después de la lesión.
  • Los cuestionarios estandarizados evaluaron los datos sociodemográficos, ocupacionales, funcionales y psicológicos (perfil de resultados del trauma).

Principales resultados:

  • El 82,4% de los pacientes regresó al trabajo diez años después del trauma.
  • Una puntuación más alta de gravedad de la lesión, ansiedad, trastorno de estrés postraumático y funcionamiento mental reducido se asociaron con la incapacidad para regresar al trabajo.
  • Los trastornos de salud mental se correlacionan con una menor independencia y participación social.

Conclusiones:

  • La mayoría de los pacientes con traumas graves logran una reintegración exitosa en la fuerza laboral.
  • La salud mental es un factor determinante de los resultados laborales a largo plazo, más que la discapacidad física.
  • Los programas de rehabilitación a largo plazo deben priorizar el apoyo psicosocial para los sobrevivientes de traumas.
