Resumen

El índice de masa corporal materna (IMC) no afecta significativamente el desarrollo o la calidad del embrión en los ciclos de tecnología de reproducción asistida. Objetivo del estudio:

  • Investigar la asociación entre el IMC materno y los parámetros morfokinéticos del embrión.
  • Evaluar el efecto de las diferentes categorías de IMC en la calidad y el potencial de desarrollo de los embriones.

Principales métodos:

  • Un análisis retrospectivo de 617 ciclos de inyección intracitoplasmática de esperma con antagonista de la hormona liberadora de gonadotropina (GnRH).
  • Comparación de la morfokinética y la calidad de los embriones en cuatro grupos de IMC (< 18,5, 18,5-24,9, 25-29,9, ≥ 30 kg/m2).
  • Evaluación de los parámetros clave, incluido el tiempo hasta la aparición del pronúcleo, los tiempos de escisión y las tasas de formación de blastocistos.

Principales resultados:

  • No se observaron diferencias significativas en el rendimiento de ovocitos, las tasas de fertilización o las tasas de creación de embriones entre los grupos de IMC.
  • Los parámetros morfokinéticos embrionarios, incluido el tiempo hasta la aparición del pronúcleo y los tiempos de escisión, no mostraron variaciones significativas entre los grupos de IMC.
  • Las tasas de embriones de alta calidad en las etapas de escisión y blastocisto fueron comparables en todas las categorías de IMC materna.

Conclusiones:

  • El IMC materno, incluso en rangos extremos, no parece influir significativamente en los parámetros o la calidad morfokinética del embrión.
  • Los datos de seguimiento de lapso de tiempo sugieren que las variaciones en el peso materno no afectan negativamente al desarrollo embrionario temprano en los ciclos de ICSI.
