Resumen

La osteotomía transversal percutánea de cuarta generación mejora significativamente la deformidad del hallux valgus, con ganancias sustanciales en la función del pie y la reducción del dolor. Este enfoque mínimamente invasivo ofrece una baja tasa de recurrencia, mejorando los resultados de los pacientes.

Sus antecedentes:

  • La osteotomía transversal percutánea de cuarta generación es una técnica mínimamente invasiva para la corrección del hallux valgus.
  • Existen estudios limitados con limitaciones metodológicas en las osteotomías transversales.
  • Este estudio tuvo como objetivo investigar de manera robusta las osteotomías transversales percutáneas para hallux valgus.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Evaluar los resultados clínicos y radiográficos de las osteotomías transversales percutáneas de cuarta generación para hallux valgus.
  • Proporcionar una investigación metodológicamente sólida de esta técnica quirúrgica.

Principales métodos:

  • Estudio prospectivo de pacientes consecutivos sometidos a osteotomía transversal percutánea por un solo cirujano.
  • Los resultados clínicos se evaluaron mediante el cuestionario del pie de Manchester-Oxford (MOXFQ) y una escala analógica visual para el dolor.
  • Los resultados radiográficos incluyeron el ángulo de hallux valgus (HVA), el ángulo intermetatarsiano (IMA) y la posición sesamoidea.

Principales resultados:

  • Se observaron mejoras significativas en el AVH (29,5° a 7,3°) y en la AMI (12,9° a 4,6°).
  • Todos los dominios MOXFQ mostraron una mejora significativa (p < 0,05), incluyendo el Índice MOXFQ, el Dolor, el Caminar/ Pararse y la Interacción Social.
  • Baja tasa de recurrencia del 4,5% y tasa de complicaciones del 6,1%.

Conclusiones:

  • La osteotomía transversal percutánea de cuarta generación es efectiva para la corrección del hallux valgus.
  • El estudio representa la serie consecutiva más grande que evalúa esta técnica.
  • Se lograron mejoras clínicas y radiográficas significativas con una baja tasa de recurrencia.
