  • Investigar el papel del sueño en la actualización de las evaluaciones sociales, específicamente el atractivo de los individuos.
  • Para determinar si el sueño puede mejorar la representación mental de las personas menos atractivas.

Principales métodos:

  • Los participantes fueron expuestos a señales auditivas (nombre + pares de rasgos positivos) durante el sueño.
  • Se midieron las calificaciones de atractivo de las caras asociadas.
  • Un grupo de control recibió una mera exposición de nombre sin rasgos positivos durante el sueño.
  • Se analizó la correlación entre las oscilaciones lentas durante el sueño y las calificaciones de atractivo.

Principales resultados:

  • La actualización de las evaluaciones sociales mediada por el sueño tiene aplicaciones potenciales en diversos contextos sociales.
  • La estimulación auditiva dirigida durante el sueño puede modificar las percepciones sociales.
