Sus antecedentes:

  • La cirugía traqueal aborda diversas afecciones, incluidas estenosis inflamatorias, congénitas y traumáticas, neoplasias y laceraciones.
  • El campo requiere colaboración multidisciplinaria debido a la compleja anatomía de la tráquea y variadas patologías.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Revisar las estrategias de gestión de una sola institución para un amplio espectro de lesiones traqueales durante una década.
  • Evaluar la seguridad y eficacia de las intervenciones quirúrgicas para las patologías traqueales.

Principales métodos:

  • Análisis retrospectivo de 24 pacientes sometidos a cirugía traqueal entre el 1 de enero de 2014 y el 31 de diciembre de 2023.
  • Evaluación de los datos preoperatorios y postoperatorios de los expedientes clínicos y los sistemas de registro.

Principales resultados:

  • La estenosis traqueal postintubación fue la indicación más común (67%), seguida de laceraciones (25%) y neoplasias (8%).
  • Las complicaciones incluyeron parálisis de las cuerdas vocales (8%), infección de la herida (8%), dehiscencia anastomática (4%) y mediastinitis (4%).
  • La mortalidad general fue del 8%, con bajas tasas de re- estenosis y necesidad de traqueotomía.

Conclusiones:

  • La cirugía traqueal es un procedimiento viable y seguro para pacientes cuidadosamente seleccionados.
  • Los hallazgos apoyan la seguridad y eficacia de la cirugía traqueal con una morbilidad y mortalidad aceptables.
