Los parásitos de la malaria aviar como Plasmodium homocircumflexum cambian la expresión génica en función del entorno del huésped. La infección temprana muestra la influencia del donante, mientras que las etapas posteriores se adaptan al huésped receptor, lo que sugiere una regulación epigenética.
