  • Garantizar una atención equitativa al paciente requiere una capacitación estandarizada y de alta calidad a nivel mundial.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Evaluar los resultados del aprendizaje de un curso de formación a distancia de 14 sesiones sobre los elementos críticos de la calidad del plan de tratamiento de radioterapia.
  • Evaluar el impacto del curso en los profesionales que utilizan modalidades avanzadas de radioterapia.
  • Abordar la inequidad en el cuidado de los pacientes mediante la mejora de la formación profesional.

Principales métodos:

  • Se impartió un curso de capacitación virtual de 14 sesiones a más de 500 profesionales de la radioterapia en el norte de África.
  • Los participantes completaron evaluaciones de conocimientos en línea antes y después del curso.
  • La confianza en las competencias básicas se evaluó mediante encuestas, con los datos analizados mediante pruebas t emparejadas, regresión lineal general y ANOVA.

Principales resultados:

  • Las puntuaciones de la evaluación del conocimiento mejoraron significativamente de una media de 3,97 a 4,88 (p < 0,001).
  • Las puntuaciones medias de confianza aumentaron de 2,28 a 3,70 (p < 0,001).
  • La mejora de la puntuación de conocimiento se correlacionó positivamente con la asistencia al curso (p = 0,02), y la confianza varió según la experiencia y el rol.

Conclusiones:

  • El curso de formación a distancia demostró resultados positivos de aprendizaje, especialmente en la planificación avanzada del tratamiento.
  • Los asistentes adquirieron habilidades prácticas en la aplicación de criterios rigurosos de calidad del plan.
  • El estudio subraya la importancia de la educación continua y la experiencia práctica en oncología por radiación.
