Los colgajos libres aumentan significativamente el riesgo de infección profunda y no unión en fracturas severas de tibia abierta. Si bien no es estadísticamente significativo, retrasar la cobertura del colgajo más allá de 72 horas tuvo una tendencia a mayores tasas de complicaciones.
