El posaconazol por vía intravenosa alcanza efectivamente los niveles objetivo en pacientes pediátricos con trasplante de células madre hematopoyéticas (HSCT) para la profilaxis y el tratamiento de infecciones fúngicas. Una dosis de carga de 10 mg/ kg seguida de una dosis de mantenimiento resultó segura y efectiva, siendo la disfunción hepática el efecto adverso más común.
