Abstract:

We developed novel uniform chromium-doped molybdenum disulfide (Cr-MoS₂) nanosheets for the electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). The Cr doping is beneficial for the charge redistribution of MoS₂ and energy barrier optimization of the HER, which endows Cr-MoS₂ with excellent catalytic activity and stability, as confirmed by in situ Raman spectroscopy.

Sulfides are the sulfur analog of ethers, just as thiols are the sulfur analog of alcohol. Like ethers, sulfides also consist of two hydrocarbon groups bonded to the central sulfur atom. Depending upon the type of groups present, sulfides can be symmetrical or asymmetrical.
