Sus antecedentes:

  • El diagnóstico diferencial de la debilidad de las extremidades inferiores después de una convulsión es amplio.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Informar sobre un caso raro de síndrome del psoas que ocurre después de una convulsión generalizada.
  • Describir la presentación clínica y los hallazgos diagnósticos de este caso específico.
  • Discutir los diagnósticos diferenciales del síndrome del psoas en este contexto.

Principales métodos:

  • Informe de caso de un hombre de 52 años que se presenta con convulsiones y debilidad en la extremidad inferior izquierda.
  • Uso de imágenes diagnósticas mediante tomografía computarizada (TC) de abdomen y pelvis.
  • Evaluación clínica y revisión de los síntomas e historial médico del paciente.

Principales resultados:

  • La tomografía computarizada reveló un engrosamiento reversible del músculo psoas izquierdo.
  • Los hallazgos fueron consistentes con un diagnóstico de síndrome del psoas.
  • El paciente experimentó debilidad en la extremidad inferior izquierda.

Conclusiones:

  • El síndrome del psoas es una complicación potencial, aunque rara, después de convulsiones generalizadas.
