Sus antecedentes:

  • La prescripción social está poco desarrollada en Corea del Sur, a pesar de la necesidad urgente de intervenciones para una población que envejece.
  • El aislamiento social y la reducción del bienestar son preocupaciones importantes para los adultos mayores que viven en la comunidad.
  • Se necesitan programas efectivos para apoyar a la creciente sociedad súper-envejecida en Corea del Sur.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Evaluar la efectividad de un Programa Activo de Participación Social Basado en la Comunidad (ACoSP).
  • Evaluar el impacto del programa ACoSP en el aislamiento social y el bienestar en adultos mayores.
  • Explorar la viabilidad y la satisfacción de los participantes con las intervenciones de participación social basadas en la comunidad.

Principales métodos:

  • Un estudio piloto que involucró a ocho adultos mayores en Wonju, Corea del Sur, durante un mes.
  • Diez sesiones de intervención utilizando mapeo de activos comunitarios y un marco de participación estructurado (actividades culturales, físicas, sociales).
  • Las medidas de resultado incluyeron aislamiento social, estilo de vida, autoeficacia y satisfacción del participante, analizadas mediante pruebas de rangos con signo de Wilcoxon.

Principales resultados:

  • Los participantes mostraron un aumento en la actividad física y la participación social, aunque no fue estadísticamente significativo.
  • Los datos cualitativos indicaron una mejora en la autoeficacia, la participación comunitaria y las redes sociales.
  • Se informó una alta satisfacción de los participantes y una necesidad percibida del programa ACoSP.

Conclusiones:

  • El programa ACoSP demuestra potencial para mitigar el aislamiento social y mejorar el bienestar en adultos mayores del sur de Corea.
  • Se recomienda una mayor investigación con tamaños de muestra más grandes y duraciones más largas para validar los hallazgos.
  • La integración del programa en los marcos de atención médica comunitarios justifica una mayor investigación.
