Sus antecedentes:

  • Las Juntas Asesoras Comunitarias (CAB) son grupos formales que mejoran la participación comunitaria en la investigación.; El establecimiento de CAB es crucial para involucrar a los miembros de la comunidad en el diseño e implementación de la investigación.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Ilustrar el proceso de establecimiento de una CAB en Lima, Perú.; Adaptar el Patient Advisor Toolkit para su uso en la investigación sobre demencia en un nuevo contexto cultural.; Involucrar a la comunidad en el diseño de estrategias de difusión y reclutamiento para la investigación sobre demencia.

Principales métodos:

  • Un estudio retrospectivo que describe la creación de una CAB en Lima, Perú.; Adaptación y traducción del Patient Advisor Toolkit.; Capacitación del facilitador, incluyendo revisión de materiales y ejercicios de juego de roles.; Sesiones de capacitación para miembros de la CAB que cubren funciones, reglas, responsabilidades y expectativas de la CAB.

Principales resultados:

  • La CAB estuvo compuesta por seis miembros (4 mujeres, 2 hombres) de diversos orígenes, incluyendo cuidadores y personas sin experiencia previa en investigación.; La capacitación se dividió en dos sesiones para una mejor comprensión.; Los miembros de la CAB establecieron reglas, responsabilidades y expectativas, y participaron en una simulación de reunión para recibir retroalimentación.

Conclusiones:

  • La adaptación y traducción del Patient Advisor Toolkit proporcionó un método estructurado para la formación de la CAB.; Este modelo facilita la colaboración efectiva entre los miembros de la comunidad y los investigadores.; El enfoque puede servir como referencia para integrar las perspectivas de la comunidad en la investigación sobre demencia en entornos similares.
