Sus antecedentes:

  • Lecanemab, aprobado en Corea del Sur en mayo de 2024, tiene datos limitados de elegibilidad en el mundo real.
  • Estimar la elegibilidad de lecanemab es crucial para guiar el acceso al tratamiento en la población coreana.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Estimar la proporción de pacientes elegibles para el tratamiento con lecanemab en Corea.
  • Evaluar la elegibilidad tanto en una población de clínica de memoria clínica como en una cohorte de investigación.

Principales métodos:

  • Análisis retrospectivo de 2.726 pacientes de una clínica de memoria universitaria y 625 de la cohorte KBASE.
  • Se aplicaron las Recomendaciones de Uso Apropiado (AUR) del ADRD-TWG para los criterios de elegibilidad de lecanemab.
  • Se incluyeron criterios de puntuación MMSE (≥22 o puntuación z > -1,5) y positividad para PET amiloide.

Principales resultados:

  • En la muestra clínica, el 14,4% fueron elegibles después de aplicar todos los criterios.
  • En la muestra de cohortes, el 8,3% fueron elegibles después de aplicar todos los criterios.
  • La elegibilidad estimada general en ambos grupos fue del 8,7%.

Conclusiones:

  • Este estudio proporciona los primeros datos de elegibilidad de lecanemab en el mundo real para la población coreana.
  • Las directrices actuales pueden excluir a una proporción significativa de pacientes con enfermedad de Alzheimer en etapa temprana.
  • Se necesitan criterios de elegibilidad adaptados que reflejen las características de la población coreana y el acceso a la atención médica.
