Sus antecedentes:

  • Estudio cualitativo que utiliza la metodología de grupos de tareas con 149 participantes (de 40 a 80 años) de orígenes de bajos ingresos y étnicamente diversos.

  • Las barreras incluyeron el acceso a la atención médica, el estigma, el idioma y las opiniones culturales/religiosas; las recomendaciones se centran en la capacitación de la fuerza laboral, el apoyo lingüístico y la participación comunitaria.

Conclusiones:

  • El estudio ofrece información sobre las opiniones de diversas poblaciones sobre la predicción del riesgo de demencia y las herramientas.
  • Las barreras identificadas y las recomendaciones pueden guiar el desarrollo de servicios de demencia culturalmente conscientes e inclusivos.
