La positividad del ADN del virus de Epstein-Barr (VEB) se relaciona con el riesgo de esclerosis múltiple (EM) a través de factores genéticos y células B infectadas. Este estudio identifica nuevos loci genéticos y mecanismos celulares que conectan el VEB con la iniciación de la EM.
