Sus antecedentes:

  • La pérdida auditiva es una comorbilidad frecuente en la demencia, que afecta a más del 80% de las personas.; La prevalencia aumenta con la edad y la gravedad del deterioro cognitivo.; El infradiagnóstico es común, ya que los informes de los sustitutos subestiman la pérdida auditiva.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Revisar la epidemiología de la pérdida auditiva en la demencia.; Discutir la presentación clínica, la evaluación y las estrategias de manejo.; Destacar el impacto de la pérdida auditiva en los síntomas neuropsiquiátricos y los posibles beneficios del uso de audífonos.

Principales métodos:

  • Revisión de datos epidemiológicos de cohortes con base en EE. UU.; Discusión de herramientas de evaluación clínica y opciones de manejo.; Exploración de la detección asistida por tecnología y las tecnologías de audífonos.

Principales resultados:
