Objetivo del estudio:

  • Examinar el envejecimiento fenotípico compuesto.
  • Establecer relojes de envejecimiento para el cerebro y cuatro sistemas corporales.
  • Explorar la relación entre el envejecimiento de los sistemas de órganos y el deterioro cognitivo.

Principales métodos:

  • Se utilizaron imágenes cerebrales y fenotipos fisiológicos de los estudios Taizhou Imaging Study y Shanghai Aging Study (N=1448).
  • Se analizaron las trayectorias cognitivas a lo largo del tiempo (grupos de bajo deterioro, alto deterioro, alto estable).
  • Se desarrollaron relojes de envejecimiento compuestos para el cerebro y cuatro sistemas corporales.

Principales resultados:

  • Se identificaron asociaciones significativas entre las medidas de la función renal (creatinina, homocisteína) y el deterioro cognitivo.
