Sus antecedentes:

  • Los trastornos neurocognitivos (TNC) se presentan con comportamientos socialmente inapropiados y cognición social alterada, lo que afecta la calidad de vida del paciente y el cuidador.
  • Las intervenciones actuales para estos déficits psicosociales son limitadas y las medidas de resultados carecen de estandarización, lo que dificulta la comparabilidad de la investigación.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Identificar conceptos orientados al paciente para la investigación clínica psicosocial en TNC.
  • Recopilar comentarios sobre las evaluaciones neuropsicológicas y psicosociales de pacientes y cuidadores.
  • Informar el desarrollo de intervenciones personalizadas y medidas de resultados.

Principales métodos:

  • Se distribuyó una encuesta en línea internacional a asociaciones de pacientes y cuidadores a través de la red SIGNATURE.
  • La encuesta evaluó la claridad y utilidad percibidas de las evaluaciones neuropsicológicas, la relevancia de las pruebas psicosociales y las prioridades para la evaluación del comportamiento social.
  • Se recopilaron datos de 198 encuestados de seis asociaciones de cuidadores italianas y españolas.

Principales resultados:

  • Los encuestados encontraron útiles las evaluaciones cognitivas para comprender la progresión de la enfermedad y los déficits en la vida diaria.
  • Más del 50% informaron dificultades con las tablas de puntuación y la terminología técnica, lo que indica la necesidad de una comunicación más clara.
  • Las pruebas psicosociales fueron de gran relevancia, con un fuerte énfasis en la medición de comportamientos sociales de la vida real, como la empatía y la regulación emocional.

Conclusiones:

  • Se necesitan iniciativas educativas para mejorar la claridad de las evaluaciones psicosociales para clínicos y partes interesadas.
  • El desarrollo y la validación de medidas de cambios en el comportamiento social de la vida real son cruciales para la investigación clínica psicosocial en TNC.
  • Las perspectivas de pacientes y cuidadores son vitales para avanzar en la investigación y mejorar la atención en TNC.
