Conclusiones:

  • Este es el primer estudio de inmunología de vacunas en síndrome de Down (SD) que abarca tanto a niños como a adultos.
  • Las personas con SD presentan concentraciones de anticuerpos y neutralización sérica reducidas después de la vacunación primaria y de refuerzo contra el SARS-CoV-2 en comparación con los controles sanos.
  • Los defectos en la respuesta a la vacuna observados en el SD dependen de la edad, lo que subraya la necesidad de estrategias de inmunización específicas para la edad en esta población.
