Objetivo del estudio:

  • Investigar la asociación entre los antecedentes familiares de condiciones clínicas y el rendimiento cognitivo.
  • Explorar las posibles influencias genéticas en la función cognitiva.

Principales métodos:

  • Estudio transversal de 1665 participantes no demenciados (mayores de 45 años) del Estudio Longitudinal TATA sobre el Envejecimiento.
  • Se recopilaron datos sobre los antecedentes familiares de diversas afecciones clínicas y evaluaciones cognitivas (ACE-III, Batería COGNITO).

  • Prevalencia de antecedentes familiares: 17,7% de deterioro de la memoria, 60,9% de enfermedades cardíacas, 59,4% de accidente cerebrovascular.
  • Diferencia significativa en los antecedentes familiares de problemas de memoria entre los grupos de edad (p=0,012).
  • Las puntuaciones de atención difirieron significativamente entre las personas con y sin antecedentes familiares de problemas de memoria (p=0,036).

Conclusiones:

  • Los antecedentes familiares de problemas de memoria se asocian con variaciones en las puntuaciones de atención.
  • Sugiere factores genéticos potenciales que influyen en el rendimiento cognitivo temprano.
  • Destaca la necesidad de investigar más a fondo para identificar marcadores de riesgo tempranos de deterioro cognitivo.
