Resumen

Una nueva herramienta bioinformática, MTBseq-nf, mejora el análisis genómico completo de la tuberculosis. Este envoltorio Nextflow ofrece paralelización para obtener resultados más rápidos, mejorando la eficiencia de la vigilancia genómica.

Sus antecedentes:

  • El pipeline original de MTBseq (2018) abordó los desafíos bioinformáticos en la investigación de la tuberculosis (TB) utilizando la secuenciación del genoma completo (WGS).
  • Fue la primera herramienta de GitHub para el análisis integral de MTBC WGS, que incluye control de calidad, mapeo, detección de variantes, clasificación de linajes, predicción de resistencia a fármacos e inferencia filogenética.
  • Sin embargo, su arquitectura lineal limitó la escalabilidad en entornos de computación de alto rendimiento y en la nube.

Conclusiones:

  • MTBseq-nf proporciona una solución escalable y eficiente para la vigilancia genómica de TB.
  • El envoltorio Nextflow paralelizado supera las limitaciones del pipeline MTBseq original.
  • Este avance facilita un análisis más rápido y robusto de los datos WGS de Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
