Síndrome de Sjögren pediátrico

Sus antecedentes:
- Los perfiles de citoquinas y linfocitos son cruciales en enfermedades autoinmunes de adultos, pero se comprenden menos en el síndrome de Sjögren pediátrico (pSS).
- El diagnóstico temprano y la comprensión de la patogénesis en el síndrome de Sjögren pediátrico son críticos para un manejo eficaz.
- Se justifica la investigación de componentes del sistema inmunitario como posibles biomarcadores para el síndrome de Sjögren pediátrico.
Objetivo del estudio:
- Evaluar citoquinas y subconjuntos de linfocitos como posibles biomarcadores diagnósticos para el síndrome de Sjögren pediátrico (pSS).
- Explorar el papel de las anomalías de las células inmunitarias en la patogénesis del síndrome de Sjögren pediátrico.
Principales métodos:
- Análisis retrospectivo de 14 pacientes pediátricos diagnosticados con síndrome de Sjögren.
- Medición de los niveles de citoquinas en plasma (IL-4, IL-5, TNF-α, IFN-γ, TNF-β, IL-6, IL-1β, IL-2, IL-10, IL-8, IL-22, IL-12p70, IL-17F, IL-17A).
- Cuantificación de subconjuntos de linfocitos (CD3+, CD19+, CD3-CD16+/CD56+, CD3+CD4+, CD3+CD8+) en pacientes con pSS y controles sanos.
Principales resultados:
- Se observaron niveles elevados de Interleucina-8 (IL-8) en plasma de pacientes pediátricos con síndrome de Sjögren en comparación con los controles.
- Se encontraron linfocitos T citotóxicos CD3+CD8+ aumentados en pacientes con pSS.
- Se observaron niveles disminuidos de linfocitos T totales CD3+, linfocitos T cooperadores CD3+CD4+, linfocitos B CD19+ y células Natural Killer (NK) CD3-CD16+/CD56+ en pacientes con pSS.
Conclusiones:
- La Interleucina-8 (IL-8) puede servir como un posible indicador diagnóstico temprano para el síndrome de Sjögren pediátrico.
- Las anomalías en las células T, células B y células NK se asocian con el síndrome de Sjögren pediátrico y pueden contribuir a su patogénesis.
- Se necesitan más estudios a gran escala para validar estos hallazgos y confirmar los roles diagnósticos y patogénicos de estos marcadores inmunitarios.
