El ranelato de estroncio (SR) mejora la mineralización de la matriz extracelular (ECM) activando las vías Erk1/2 y CREB. Este ion de estroncio bioactivo (Sr2+) también modifica la composición lipídica de las vesículas matriciales (MV), lo que afecta la formación ósea.
