Sus antecedentes:

El estudio PRECIDENTD investiga los inhibidores de SGLT2 y los agonistas del receptor GLP-1 para la prevención de enfermedades cardiovasculares y renales en la diabetes tipo 2.
Los participantes reciben los medicamentos del estudio a través del seguro y completan evaluaciones periódicas.

Objetivo del estudio:

Desarrollar y evaluar un programa centralizado basado en mensajes de texto para mejorar la adherencia y retención de los participantes en el estudio PRECIDENTD.
Evaluar el rendimiento de la herramienta de salud digital durante un período de un año.

Principales métodos:

Un programa de mensajería de texto fue co-diseñado con socios pacientes y una empresa de tecnología, incorporando las mejores prácticas en salud digital.
El programa incluyó mensajes interactivos sobre la adherencia a la medicación y mensajes informativos unidireccionales.
Se analizaron las respuestas de los participantes para determinar la participación y identificar los desafíos de adherencia.

Principales resultados:

El programa de mensajería de texto llegó a 450 participantes en 20 sitios en su primer año.
Se logró una tasa de respuesta del 80% para los mensajes interactivos de adherencia.
El veinticinco por ciento de las respuestas señalaron problemas como el acceso a la medicación o los efectos secundarios, lo que activó la intervención.

Conclusiones:

Una herramienta digital co-diseñada involucró eficazmente a los participantes e identificó a aquellos que necesitaban apoyo con la adherencia a la medicación.
Las herramientas digitales centralizadas desarrolladas en colaboración pueden mejorar la capacidad de los estudios nacionales para la investigación de efectividad comparativa.
