Sus antecedentes:

  • La capacitación sobre diversidad se implementa cada vez más en las escuelas K-12.; La efectividad y sostenibilidad de la capacitación sobre diversidad siguen siendo desafíos significativos.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Identificar las barreras reportadas por los educadores para la capacitación sobre diversidad.; Examinar cómo la demografía del educador y las características de la escuela influyen en las barreras reportadas.

Principales métodos:

  • Análisis cuantitativo de contenido de respuestas abiertas de encuestas de 633 educadores.; Análisis de ocho categorías principales de barreras: logísticas, individuales, de liderazgo, de formadores, comunitarias, de recursos, de políticas y sin barreras.

Principales resultados:

  • Las barreras logísticas (24%) e individuales (20%) fueron las más frecuentemente reportadas.; Las barreras comunitarias y logísticas variaron significativamente según la demografía del educador y las características de la escuela.

Conclusiones:

  • Los hallazgos resaltan la necesidad de estrategias de implementación específicas del contexto para la capacitación sobre diversidad.; Abordar las barreras identificadas es crucial para fomentar entornos de apoyo y mejorar la efectividad de la capacitación.
