Sus antecedentes:

  • La incontinencia urinaria (IU) post-ictus es una complicación común que afecta la calidad de vida del paciente.
  • La electroacupuntura (EA) muestra promesa para el tratamiento de la IU post-ictus, pero carece de una visión general integral.
  • Este estudio aborda la necesidad de un resumen sistemático de la investigación actual sobre la EA para la IU post-ictus.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Revisar y resumir sistemáticamente los temas prevalentes y los hallazgos clínicos sobre la electroacupuntura para la incontinencia urinaria post-ictus.
  • Proporcionar una visión general de la evidencia de investigación existente sobre la eficacia de la EA en el manejo de la incontinencia urinaria post-ictus.

Principales métodos:

  • Se realizó una búsqueda exhaustiva de literatura en ocho bases de datos principales (PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Embase, CNKI, VIP, Wan Fang Data, SinoMed) hasta el 1 de junio de 2023.
  • Se identificaron y filtraron estudios relevantes sobre electroacupuntura para la incontinencia urinaria post-ictus por dos investigadores independientes.
  • Se empleó un enfoque descriptivo y análisis cuantitativo, siguiendo la lista de verificación PRISMA-ScR para la revisión de alcance.

Principales resultados:

  • Se incluyeron 58 publicaciones, predominantemente 49 estudios clínicos de China (2008-2022).
  • La electroacupuntura demostró efectos terapéuticos definidos en varias medidas de resultado para la incontinencia urinaria post-ictus.
  • Los puntos de acupuntura clave identificados incluyen EX-HN1, BL23, RN3, RN4, BL32, SP6, GV20, RN6 y BL35, y todos los estudios mostraron mejoras estadísticamente significativas en la gravedad de la incontinencia urinaria.

Conclusiones:

  • La electroacupuntura es una intervención alternativa segura y eficaz para la incontinencia urinaria post-ictus.
  • La EA exhibe un potencial terapéutico sustancial, ofreciendo una opción de tratamiento prometedora.
  • Se recomiendan más estudios a gran escala y bien diseñados y colaboración internacional para una evaluación clínica integral.
