Se desarrollaron nuevas membranas compuestas con propiedades de separación de gases sintonizables utilizando poli(éter imida sulfona) y líquidos iónicos. Estos materiales muestran una mayor resistencia y estabilidad térmica para aplicaciones como la eliminación de dióxido de carbono.
