Sus antecedentes:

  • Los sistemas de recomendación de medicamentos utilizan el historial del paciente para la planificación del tratamiento.
  • La modelización de secuencias de registros de salud electrónicos (EHR) ha avanzado en la precisión de las recomendaciones.
  • Los métodos existentes tienen dificultades para integrar el conocimiento médico estructurado y modelar la dinámica temporal de los medicamentos.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Proponer HeteroMed, un novedoso modelo de recomendación de medicamentos.
  • Mejorar la representación del paciente integrando conocimiento médico estructurado.
  • Mejorar el modelado de la dinámica temporal del uso de medicamentos y garantizar la seguridad del tratamiento.

Principales métodos:

  • Se construyó un grafo heterogéneo médico multirrelacional a partir de datos de EHR (diagnósticos, procedimientos, medicamentos).
  • Se empleó un mecanismo de compuerta para la fusión dinámica del conocimiento para mitigar el ruido y los cambios de distribución.
  • Se incorporaron factores temporales y un marco de expansión/herencia de fármacos para la decodificación, junto con un regularizador de interacción fármaco-fármaco (DDI) para la seguridad.

Principales resultados:

  • HeteroMed demostró un rendimiento superior en comparación con los modelos de referencia en dos conjuntos de datos públicos.
  • El modelo mostró una mayor precisión en la recomendación de medicamentos.
  • HeteroMed exhibió un mejor equilibrio entre la eficacia y la seguridad de la prescripción.

Conclusiones:

  • HeteroMed integra eficazmente el conocimiento médico heterogéneo para mejorar la recomendación de medicamentos.
  • El modelo propuesto aborda las limitaciones de los métodos existentes al incorporar la dinámica temporal y el conocimiento estructurado.
  • HeteroMed ofrece un enfoque prometedor para generar regímenes de tratamiento más seguros y eficaces.
