Abstract:
Currently, training in the field of pulmonology in clinics is not designed in such a way that a physician can easily move into private practice with just the knowledge gained in the clinic. This article aims to present the fundamentals of outpatient care and the necessary prerequisites and knowledge that are best acquired shortly before starting a private practice or in the first years of private practice. For setting up as a contracted physician (insurance-affiliated doctor), a pulmonologist, in addition to medical expertise in commonly occurring outpatient diseases, also needs knowledge in legal, organizational, and business management areas.
