Sus antecedentes:

  • Los entornos de atención médica, en particular el entorno construido, pueden actuar como intervenciones que influyen en las experiencias de los residentes en la atención a largo plazo (LTC).
  • La investigación de diseño basada en evidencia destaca el impacto clínico y conductual de las condiciones ambientales, sin embargo, estos hallazgos no se aplican consistentemente en la construcción y renovación de LTC.
  • Existen brechas debido al desarrollo divergente de conocimientos en medicina, arquitectura y operaciones de LTC, lo que deja sin reconocer las deficiencias en el diseño ambiental.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Abordar la brecha en la integración de la investigación de diseño ambiental en los entornos de atención a largo plazo (LTC).
  • Desarrollar un proceso de evaluación multidisciplinario para el diseño de LTC.
  • Mejorar la seguridad, el bienestar y la autonomía de las personas en atención a largo plazo.

  • Desarrollo del modelo de Revisión por Pares en Bioética para el Diseño de Atención a Largo Plazo.
  • Fundamentación del modelo en los principios de consulta de ética clínica.
  • Alineación del modelo con el marco geriátrico 5M.
  • Aplicación piloto y evaluación en dos centros de atención a largo plazo.

Principales resultados:

  • El modelo de Revisión por Pares en Bioética para el Diseño de Atención a Largo Plazo proporciona un enfoque estructurado para evaluar los entornos de atención a largo plazo.
  • Las aplicaciones piloto demostraron la viabilidad y utilidad del proceso de revisión multidisciplinario.
  • Las lecciones aprendidas de los estudios piloto ofrecen información para refinar el modelo y su implementación.

Conclusiones:

  • La integración de consideraciones éticas y diseño basado en evidencia a través de un proceso de revisión por pares puede mejorar los entornos de atención a largo plazo.
