Se descubrieron péptidos novedosos similares a la Microcina B17 (MccB17) en Pseudomonas. A pesar de las similitudes estructurales, estos congéneres causaron distintos efectos fisiológicos en E. coli, ampliando la diversidad conocida de RiPPs.
Conclusiones:
- Congéneres de MccB17 estructuralmente similares pueden provocar respuestas fisiológicas únicas en el organismo huésped.
- Este estudio amplía el repertorio de RiPPs similares a MccB17 y enfatiza la exploración de la diversidad de RiPPs más allá de la actividad antimicrobiana.
