  • El conocimiento de la genética es crucial en enfermería, pero a menudo se percibe como de relevancia limitada.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Evaluar el conocimiento genético actual y la relevancia percibida entre las enfermeras italianas.
  • Comparar estos hallazgos con una encuesta de 2011 para identificar tendencias.
  • Evaluar el interés de las enfermeras en una mayor educación sobre genética.

Principales métodos:

  • Se realizó una encuesta transversal utilizando cuestionarios autoadministrados.
  • 504 enfermeras italianas completaron la encuesta, proporcionando datos sobre su conocimiento de la genética y su relevancia percibida.
  • Los datos se analizaron y compararon con datos históricos de 2011.

Principales resultados:

  • Se observó una mejora significativa en el conocimiento de la genética, con un 78,9% respondiendo correctamente a las preguntas en comparación con el 60,5% en 2011.
  • La relevancia percibida de la genética para la enfermería se mantuvo baja (26,9%), con cambios mínimos desde 2011.
  • A pesar de la baja relevancia percibida, se informó de un interés sustancial en una mayor educación sobre genética (30,6% de gran interés, 56,1% indicaron interés).

Conclusiones:

  • Si bien el conocimiento de la genética entre las enfermeras italianas ha aumentado, es insuficiente para una integración segura en la práctica.
  • Existe una clara necesidad de programas de educación genética específicos para mejorar las habilidades y la confianza de las enfermeras.
  • Abordar la relevancia percibida de la genética es esencial para su aplicación efectiva en la atención de enfermería.
