  • La síntesis de materiales cristalinos como las zeolitas es un desafío debido a las complejas relaciones entre estructura y síntesis y a los vastos espacios experimentales.
  • Los métodos existentes luchan por navegar por el paisaje de síntesis de alta dimensionalidad y predecir condiciones óptimas de manera eficiente.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Desarrollar un modelo computacional avanzado, DiffSyn, para predecir y optimizar las vías de síntesis de zeolitas.
  • Aprovechar un gran conjunto de datos de recetas de síntesis para entrenar un modelo de difusión generativa.
  • Demostrar la capacidad del modelo para descubrir y sintetizar nuevos materiales cristalinos.

Principales métodos:

  • Se desarrolló DiffSyn, un modelo de difusión generativa entrenado con más de 23.000 recetas de síntesis de zeolitas de 50 años de literatura.
  • Se condicionó el modelo con estructuras de zeolita deseadas y plantillas orgánicas para generar rutas de síntesis probables.
  • Se utilizó la teoría de la funcional de la densidad (DFT) para racionalizar las rutas de síntesis predichas mediante cálculos de energía de enlace.

Principales resultados:

  • DiffSyn logró un rendimiento de vanguardia al modelar eficazmente las relaciones multimodales entre estructura y síntesis.
  • El modelo diferenció con éxito entre fases competidoras y propuso rutas de síntesis óptimas.
  • Se sintetizó un material UFI utilizando rutas generadas por DiffSyn, lo que arrojó una alta relación Si/Al de 19.0, lo que indica una mayor estabilidad térmica.

Conclusiones:

  • DiffSyn ofrece un potente enfoque computacional para acelerar el descubrimiento y la síntesis de materiales cristalinos.
  • La capacidad del modelo para predecir rutas de síntesis basadas en estructuras y plantillas deseadas reduce significativamente el ensayo y error experimental.
  • La síntesis exitosa del material UFI valida la precisión predictiva de DiffSyn y su potencial para avanzar en la ciencia de materiales.
