- Investigar la asociación entre los niveles séricos de hormonas tiroideas y la progresión estructural en el queratocono.; Determinar si la hormona estimulante de la tiroides (TSH), la T3 total o la T4 libre se correlacionan con el avance del queratocono.
Principales métodos:
- Un estudio observacional prospectivo incluyó 133 ojos de 74 individuos.; Los participantes se clasificaron en grupos de queratocono progresivo, queratocono estable y controles sanos.; La progresión se definió por un aumento de ≥1,0 D en la queratometría máxima (Kmax) durante 12 meses. Se realizaron ensayos de hormonas séricas (TSH, T3, T4) y estudios de imagen corneal.
