Un nuevo reordenamiento de Achmatowicz libre de metales utiliza bromuro de hidrógeno y peróxido de hidrógeno para la expansión oxidativa del anillo de alcoholes furfurílicos. Este método suave produce eficientemente diversos andamios de dihidropiranona, valiosos en la síntesis de productos naturales.
