Resumen

La Estimulación Magnética Plana (FMS) trata eficazmente la incontinencia urinaria de estrés (SUI) masculina después de una prostatectomía radical (RP). Esta terapia no invasiva mejoró significativamente los resultados informados por los pacientes sin eventos adversos, ofreciendo una alternativa de tratamiento conveniente.

Sus antecedentes:

  • La incontinencia urinaria (UI) es una complicación común después de la prostatectomía radical (RP).
  • El daño de los músculos del suelo pélvico a menudo contribuye a la UI post-prostatectomía.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Evaluar la eficacia de la Estimulación Magnética Plana (FMS) para el tratamiento de la incontinencia urinaria de estrés (SUI) masculina post-prostatectomía radical (RP).
  • Evaluar el impacto de la FMS en la calidad de vida utilizando el cuestionario IIQ-7.

Principales métodos:

  • Análisis retrospectivo de 40 pacientes varones con SUI después de RP.
  • Los pacientes recibieron ocho sesiones de FMS.
  • Se registraron las puntuaciones del Cuestionario de Impacto de la Incontinencia - Forma Corta (IIQ-7) al inicio y a los 3 meses después del tratamiento.

Principales resultados:

  • Reducción significativa en las puntuaciones medianas de la escala IIQ-7 desde el valor inicial (71,35) hasta 3 meses después del tratamiento (28,54) (p < 0,05).
  • Todas las preguntas individuales del cuestionario mostraron mejoría.
  • No se reportaron eventos adversos durante el período de tratamiento.

Conclusiones:

  • La Estimulación Magnética Plana (FMS) es un tratamiento seguro y eficaz para la SUI después de la prostatectomía radical (RP).
  • La FMS ofrece una opción terapéutica conveniente y alternativa para los pacientes que sufren de incontinencia post-prostatectomía.
