  • Los sensores de inercia portátiles son prometedores para monitorear el comportamiento de las ovejas, particularmente las transiciones entre estar de pie y acostarse.
  • Los sistemas de acelerometría en tiempo real existentes para la detección de corderos de pequeños rumiantes están ausentes.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Establecer un conjunto de datos para desarrollar la detección automática en tiempo real de la aparición de corderos en ovejas.
  • Para identificar los principales indicadores de comportamiento de los corderos utilizando datos de acelerometría.
  • Proporcionar una base para futuros algoritmos que clasifiquen los comportamientos relacionados con el nacimiento.

Principales métodos:

  • Se monitorearon 61 ovejas usando acelerómetros a 20 Hz.
  • Eventos de cría de corderos grabados simultáneamente a través de video para una sincronización precisa (113 eventos).
  • Recopilación de datos complementarios: tamaño de la camada, necesidad de asistencia, año de nacimiento, historial de cría de corderos y resultados de ultrasonidos.

Principales resultados:

  • Recopiló datos completos de sensores y video de 113 eventos de cría de corderos.
  • Estableció tiempos de nacimiento precisos y documentó los comportamientos asociados.
  • Creó un conjunto de datos que vincula los datos del acelerómetro a los eventos de lambing para el desarrollo de algoritmos.

Conclusiones:

  • El conjunto de datos desarrollado es un recurso valioso para la creación de sistemas automatizados de detección de corderos para ovejas.
