Abstract:
Two new pyrrole alkaloids, asiaticain A (1) and asiaticain B (2), two aromatic compounds 3-4, and one steroid 5 were isolated from Lanmaoa asiatica. The structural elucidation of the isolated compounds was determined by using NMR, MS, IR, and UV spectroscopy data and comparison with literature data. The absolute configuration (AC) of compound 2 was further determined by comparison of experimental and calculated ECD spectra. Notably, two alkaloids previously unreported were identified from L. asiatica. Compounds 1, 2, 4, and 5 had no significant effect on anti-inflammatory activity in the lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) inhibition assay.
