The ankle is formed by the talocrural joint (crural = leg). It consists of the articulations between the talus bone of the foot and the distal ends of the tibia and fibula of the leg. Resumen

La coalición talonavicular (CT), una causa rara de dolor en el pie, puede afectar significativamente la movilidad de los adolescentes. La resección quirúrgica y la reposición del tibial posterior resolvieron eficazmente el dolor en un caso de CT bilateral.

Sus antecedentes:

  • La coalición talonavicular (CT) es una causa poco común de dolor en el pie pediátrico.
  • La CT sintomática puede limitar severamente la movilidad del paciente y la calidad de vida.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Presentar un caso de coalición talonavicular bilateral en un adolescente.
  • Evaluar la eficacia de la intervención quirúrgica para la CT sintomática.

Principales métodos:

  • Un varón de 14 años con CT bilateral y dolor medial en el pie se sometió a resección quirúrgica de la coalición.
  • Se realizó una reposición del tendón del tibial posterior de forma concurrente.

Principales resultados:

  • El paciente experimentó una resolución completa del dolor en el seguimiento a los 12 meses.
  • El tratamiento quirúrgico demostró resultados positivos para la CT bilateral.

Conclusiones:

  • La coalición talonavicular debe considerarse en el diagnóstico diferencial del dolor medial del pie en adolescentes.
  • La intervención quirúrgica ofrece un tratamiento eficaz para la coalición talonavicular sintomática, proporcionando un alivio duradero del dolor.
