Sus antecedentes:

  • Los Trastornos Intestinales (TI), anteriormente trastornos funcionales del intestino, son prevalentes a nivel mundial, impactan la calidad de vida y generan costos económicos significativos.
  • La investigación reciente desde los criterios de Roma IV (2016) ha avanzado en la comprensión de la epidemiología, etiología, fisiopatología, diagnóstico y tratamiento de los TI.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Presentar la clasificación actualizada de Roma V para los Trastornos Intestinales.
  • Proporcionar un marco diagnóstico revisado para los TI basado en los avances científicos recientes.

Principales métodos:

  • Revisión y síntesis de la investigación actual en ciencias básicas y clínicas relacionadas con los TI.
  • Desarrollo de criterios diagnósticos revisados por el Comité de TI de Roma V.

Principales resultados:

  • La clasificación de Roma V define 6 categorías distintas de TI: síndrome del intestino irritable, estreñimiento crónico, diarrea funcional, hinchazón abdominal funcional, TI no clasificable y estreñimiento inducido por opioides.
