Resumen
La vitamina D modula las respuestas de los macrófagos al virus Zika (ZIKV) alterando las redes de ARN no codificantes y ARNm. Este estudio identifica moléculas y vías clave involucradas en la infección por ZIKV y la regulación inmunitaria.
Sus antecedentes:
- La infección por el virus Zika (ZIKV) presenta riesgos de malformaciones congénitas y trastornos neuroinflamatorios.
- Los macrófagos son objetivos y reservorios cruciales para el ZIKV, y median las respuestas antivirales y inflamatorias.
- La vitamina D (VitD) es un inmunomodulador que mejora la actividad antimicrobiana de los macrófagos y regula la inflamación.
Conclusiones:
- Este estudio proporciona un mapa exploratorio de las redes ncRNA-ARNm influenciadas por VitD durante la infección por ZIKV.
- Las moléculas y vías candidatas identificadas justifican una mayor investigación sobre las interacciones huésped-virus.
- Destaca el potencial de VitD para modular las respuestas de los macrófagos y la regulación inmunitaria contra el ZIKV.
