Sus antecedentes:

  • Los entornos de la unidad de cuidados intensivos (UCI) pueden ser deshumanizantes.
  • Los esfuerzos educativos existentes se centran principalmente en la atención centrada en el paciente / familia, descuidando el bienestar del equipo.
  • Existe la necesidad de humanizar el entorno de la UCI para todas las partes interesadas.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Desarrollar y evaluar un programa educativo interprofesional utilizando entrenamiento en equipo para humanizar la UCI.
  • Evaluar el impacto del programa en la capacidad percibida de los participantes para promover un entorno de equipo centrado en el ser humano.

Principales métodos:

  • Una evaluación de métodos mixtos de 3 años de un programa de entrenamiento de equipo de UCI interprofesional.
  • El programa incluyó 3 sesiones dirigidas por un entrenador certificado, centrándose en los roles, el cuidado al final de la vida y la dignidad / respeto.
  • Datos recopilados a través de encuestas previas y posteriores y análisis cualitativo de reflexiones y debriefings.

Principales resultados:

  • Participaron 43 miembros del equipo de UCI de 7 profesiones; tasa de asistencia del 70%.
  • Después del entrenamiento, las necesidades no satisfechas para promover entornos centrados en el ser humano disminuyeron significativamente para los pacientes (p<0,01), las familias (p<0,01) y los miembros del equipo (p<0,01).
  • Las puntuaciones de Consulta Interprofesional y Empatía Relacional (CARE) mejoraron (p = 0,047), con datos cualitativos que muestran compromiso con el crecimiento de la relación.

Conclusiones:

  • Confirma una necesidad insatisfecha de capacitación para humanizar los entornos de la UCI.
  • El coaching de equipos interprofesionales es una estrategia prometedora para mejorar la atención centrada en el ser humano dentro de las UCI.
  • Sugiere potencial para la expansión del programa para mejorar aún más la prestación de atención en UCI.
