Sus antecedentes:

  • Las redes neuronales profundas (DNN) se utilizan ampliamente pero carecen de plausibilidad biológica.; Las DNN existentes tienen dificultades para generalizar en diversos tipos de datos visuales.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Mejorar la validez biológica de las DNN.; Mejorar las capacidades de generalización de las DNN visuales en diferentes tipos de imágenes.

Principales métodos:

  • Se incorporaron campos receptivos biológicamente plausibles en la primera capa de una DNN visual.; Se entrenó la DNN modificada con imágenes fotográficas.

Principales resultados:

  • La DNN modificada demostró una generalización efectiva a imágenes de bocetos.; Las DNN convencionales no lograron un rendimiento comparable en bocetos cuando se entrenaron con fotografías.

Conclusiones:

  • La codificación rígida de campos receptivos en las DNN es una estrategia viable para mejorar la validez biológica.; Este enfoque mejora la capacidad de las DNN para generalizar en diversos dominios visuales, imitando los sistemas visuales biológicos.
