Objetivo del estudio:

  • Implementar un pipeline de investigación reproducible utilizando el CDM OMOP con datos de Epic EHR.
  • Permitir la investigación colaborativa dentro de la red OHDSI (Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics).
  • Evaluar la viabilidad y la calidad de los datos del uso del sistema ETL nativo de Epic para el mapeo del CDM OMOP.

Principales métodos:

  • Se mapearon los datos de EHR de University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) y Texas Health Resources (THR) a 25 tablas del CDM OMOP.
  • Se utilizó el sistema existente de extracción, transformación y carga (ETL) de Epic para la transferencia de datos a una base de datos OMOP compartida.
  • Se llevaron a cabo procesos ETL semanales y diarios en THR y UTSW, respectivamente.

Principales resultados:

  • Se lograron altas puntuaciones en la evaluación de la calidad de los datos: 97% para THR y 98% para UTSW.
  • Se estableció con éxito un pipeline de datos funcional y reproducible.
  • Se amplió la red de investigación OHDSI con datos armonizados de UTSW y THR.

Conclusiones:

  • El CDM OMOP, integrado con el marco ETL nativo de Epic, proporciona una solución robusta para la investigación colaborativa.
  • Este enfoque mejora la calidad y la generalización de los datos para futuros estudios observacionales.
  • El pipeline establecido apoya una mayor participación en la red OHDSI, acelerando los descubrimientos médicos.
