  • Analizar las discusiones relacionadas con el autismo en Reddit y compararlas con las interacciones entre clínicos y pacientes.
  • Evaluar la efectividad de un sistema de Generación Aumentada por Recuperación (RAG) específico para el autismo en la provisión de orientación.
  • Identificar temas clave y diferencias en las estrategias de apoyo discutidas en comunidades en línea en comparación con entornos clínicos.

Principales métodos:

  • Se utilizó el modelado BERTopic para identificar temas clave en las discusiones de Reddit de r/autism y r/autism_parenting.
  • Se compararon los temas de las discusiones en línea con mensajes clínicos del Centro de Autismo y Desarrollo Neurológico Thompson de la Universidad de Missouri.
  • Se evaluaron las respuestas generadas por Modelos de Lenguaje Grandes (LLM) frente a los consejos de pares de Reddit, evaluando la precisión, relevancia, empatía y utilidad.

Principales resultados:

  • Las discusiones en Reddit presentan prominentemente desafíos conductuales y estrategias de apoyo práctico.
  • Las comunidades en línea enfatizan las terapias no tradicionales, en contraste con el enfoque de los entornos clínicos en el manejo de medicamentos.
  • Se observaron diferencias en precisión, relevancia, empatía y utilidad entre las respuestas de LLM y los consejos de pares.

Conclusiones:

  • Las discusiones en línea relacionadas con el autismo brindan información valiosa, particularmente en lo que respecta al apoyo no tradicional y los consejos prácticos.
  • Los sistemas de Generación Aumentada por Recuperación (RAG) prometen mejorar la orientación sobre el autismo al integrar información impulsada por la comunidad.
  • Un enfoque equilibrado, que incorpore tanto la sabiduría de la comunidad como la experiencia clínica, es esencial para una atención eficaz del autismo.
