Sus antecedentes:

  • Los simulacros de tirador activo (ASD) son cada vez más comunes en las escuelas.; Existen datos limitados sobre la efectividad y el impacto psicológico de los ASD.; Persisten las preocupaciones sobre los efectos en la salud mental de los ASD en los estudiantes.

Objetivo del estudio:

  • Investigar las percepciones de los simulacros de tirador activo entre el personal escolar.; Comprender el impacto psicológico y la efectividad percibida de los ASD.; Informar sobre posibles cambios en las políticas para la implementación de ASD.

Principales métodos:

  • Se realizó un estudio de métodos mixtos en Vermont.; Se distribuyó una encuesta electrónica a administradores escolares, educadores, profesionales de la salud mental y personal de apoyo.; Se recopilaron datos de los distritos escolares en el condado más poblado de Vermont.

Principales resultados:

  • El 42% de los 125 encuestados observó efectos psicológicos adversos de los ASD.; El 79% de los encuestados consideró que los ASD valían la pena.; Se encontraron diferencias significativas en la eficacia percibida entre maestros y no maestros.

Conclusiones:

  • Existe una relación compleja entre el valor percibido y el impacto psicológico de los ASD.; A pesar de los daños psicológicos reportados, la mayoría de los educadores apoyan los ASD.; Existe la necesidad de revisar las políticas y prácticas con respecto a los ASD en las escuelas.
